At Whitikahu School we believe that Numeracy Skills and Numeracy Knowledge are the keystone to all areas of mathematics.

We place importance on the teaching and development of number knowledge, thinking strategies, and problem-solving across the school.

Whitikahu School understands that math topics need to be relevant, authentic, and in a context that connects to the learners.

We make maths meaningful.

All our classes implement the PR1ME Mathematics programme. PR1ME is based on a composite of approaches, used by the top-performing nations in mathematics, and based on Singapore Maths used by over 58 nations globally.

In conjunction with PR1ME, targeted workshops on Number Knowledge and Problem Solving are used each term to provide a balanced Math programme.

A variety of digital tools and Apps are used to enhance our Mathematics learning programmes.
